About the Company
Vermont Adventure
Tours is a part of the Green
Mountain Rock Climbing Center, which has been around since 1997.
The businesses are located in the city of Rutland, at the "cross-roads"
of Vermont. The Green Mountain Rock Climbing center and Vermont
Adventure Tours are owned by Steven and Sherry Lulek. Steve
has dedicated his life to adventure and with his wife Sherry, they
pass on their own passion for the outdoor world to everyone around
them.
The company currently
employs two full time managers and a part-time staff of 4-20 people.
Since Steve and Sherry purchased the business in 2002, the business
has grown rapidly. Originally only a rock and ice guide service,
the company has grown into a full time adventure company specializing
in rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, paddling, survival education,
wilderness first aid, and alpine mountaineering.
The Area
We primarily run trips in the Central and
Smuggler's Notch regions of Vermont. Central Vermont

offers some of the most
diverse, beautiful, and exciting terrain in the state. There
are two major rock-climbing cliffs, a dozen or so ice climbing
crags, miles of mountain bike trails in all ability levels, several
lakes, remote ponds, rivers, and the rest...is surrounded by the beautiful
Green Mountains. Most destination are under an hour drive, which
means time can be spend enjoying the activity instead of spending
half of your day driving. Smuggler's Notch offers some of the
best rock and ice climbing terrain in New England, as well as an excellent
training ground for mountaineering. "The Notch" as locals call
it, is located adjacent to Mount Mansfield, Vermont tallest mountain.
With all this in mind, both areas also offer excellent amenities including some
of the best food and lodging the state has to offer.

serving you, our guest. We have
some of the most highly trained staff in the country, including AMGA
certified rock and ice climbing instructors, Orvis approved fly fishing
guides, survival experts, and Wilderness First Aid Instructors. All
staff working in the outdoors are required to maintain their Wilderness
First Aid and CPR certifications. We provide seasonal in-house
training to all of our instructors, and strongly encourage staff to
continue their professional development through outside organizations.
We all fully insured for all the activities we offer and also hold
state and federal land-use permits for both the Green Mountain National
Forest and all Vermont State Lands.
