for ice climbing in the Eastern United States. Topped only by the
sky-high ice flows of British Columbia, Lake Willoughby harbors
dozens of grade 5 and some grade 6 ice climbs. Climbs range from
one to four pitches long and most are exceptionally steep. Famous
for such routes as The Last Gentlemen, and Promenade, Lake Willoughby
is an area for advanced climbers who are looking for a challenging
trip. Presidential Range,

and the site of the highest wind speed ever recorded on earth, 231mph!
This is a great trip for someone looking for an intermediate 3-4
mountaineering trip, or a beginner who has already taken our Introduction

Kayaking and Canoeing Destination TripsChittenden Reservoir Tours: This large body of water is surrounded by the massive Green Mountains. It's beautiful setting provides paddlers a great opportunity to enjoy the water, see wildlife, and learn paddleing skills. The reservoir has easy access to the water which makes the put-in and take-out much easier. Tours generally start on the west side of the reservoir and paddle out towards the middle of the water. Participants learn different paddle strokes, how to steer using one and two person technique (in the canoe), and how to paddle in a straight line (which is harder than is seems). Tours stop by a secluded island for a quick swim and lunch and continue the short distance to the south end of the water. If the water level is high, it is possible to paddle upstream on a slow-running creek and look for moose. Participants will then head back to the other side of the reservoir while staying paralell to the uncommonly traveled northwest side of the water. The Chittenden Reservoir tour generally takes 3-4 hours, but can be extended to a longer tour.
Otter Creek Tour: The Otter Creek flows the entire length of Rutland County. Unlike many other rivers, the Otter Creek flows to the north. The Otter Creek flows very slowly, considered flat water, this river may be paddled in 3-4 hours. White River Trips: The White River holds within it's banks some of the best beginner fast waters in the state. We run two or four hour tours (allow at least two hours of travel time to and from Rutland). You choose your boat: Two person Canoe, or single person Kayak. For participants looking for a little more speed that flat water, but "not too much" the White River is the perfect place. For paddlers looking for a little extra adventure, ask about the 1/4 Mile Rapids! Tours are run from Bethel to South Royalton. Please contact us for more information. Full Day Prices only.
